Jing - Lighting up your life with mini rays of sunshine.

As an SEO consultant am I constantly making recommendations, some big, some small, some in documents, some in emails, some in messenger, some on social media… You get the idea – you’re doing it too.

Jing Standard

Jing sits on your desktop like a little yellow ball of joy and lets you do two things:

1. Capture an image of any part of your screen; add arrows, boxes, text or highlight. You can the send your image to someone as a URL (via ftp or screencast), paste the imge into a document or email, save it to your desktop or bin it and start again. 
2. Make a video; again of any area of your screen. You can record actions and audio, then send a URL to your video, save the whole thing or ftp it.

There are several other applications and plug that do something similar, however there are two key things which make Jing different:

1. Simplicity and ease of use; it takes literally seconds to capture and share images or videos.
2. It’s FREE. You even get a free Screencast account. How cool is that?

Jing sits unobtrusively on the edge of your screen until you need it and allows you to use your own storage area (viaftp) should you prefer. It even saves your entire history so you can go back and make further amendments to your images or videos.

The only downside is that it only saves images in .png format to allow editing later on, however this is a small price to pay for such amazing functionality.

Jing Pro

Should you wish you can also go pro for a very reasonable $14.95 per year. This only currently enhances the video side of things; giving you mpeg 4 encoding and allowing you upload direct to YouTube or Vimeo.
